A search project is like any other project.  As ‘Sponsor’, you will have concerns and questions, which might include:

Do they really understand what I want, and how this fits with our strategy?

How will they go about it?

What are the time-frames and milestones?

Will they keep me posted?

We try to answer this with the Assignment Brief which is the ‘lynchpin’ of the entire process - and the main ‘selling’ tool with potential candidates.

The Work Breakdown Structure details the high-level tasks.  

When displayed as a Gantt Chart you can see when items are expected to finish, key milestones, and Progress Report dates.

The Shortlist documentation provides our own detailed report on each candidate, plus the (un-edited) CVs.  

A ‘Comparative Matrix’ gives you an overview on one piece of A4.
